The Service
The xx.eu.org are subdomains delegated from .eu.org – here after referred to as domain name. Registrants must establish that the selected domain name has not already been registered prior to ordering. If not the order will be cancelled without notice.
xx.eu.org domain names are provided at cost which is currently free of charge. Should this change – registrants will be notified of the imminent change and provided with any options made available by the registry. ZONE-REG will never seek to profit from provision of xx.eu.org domain names. Under the terms of the current free domain registration service – the registrar retains ownership of registered domain names.
DNS hosting for xx.eu.org domain names is provided via ZONE-REG PowerDNS servers in two tiers:
– Free Tier DNS – the aim of the free tier is to provide sufficient features to enable registrants of xx.eu.org domain names to host a single website on a server of their choice and map email to a server of their choosing. Information to enable delegation of the DNS zone is to be entered during the sign-up process and subsequent changes requested via support requests made from the registrant control panel. Support requests of this type are limited to one per calendar month and will normally be responded to within 48 hours. Free tier – registrants are OPTED IN to receiving emails containing information on ZONE-REG service status, how to make the most of domain names, industry news and offers of additional services of any type. The ability to OPT OUT is not permitted and emails to registrants containing questions must be answered within 72 hours. Additional services such as domain and email forwarding are not available within the free tier.
– Premium Tier DNS – the aim of the premium tier is to provide a wide range of competitively priced services to maximise scope and increase flexibility, in the deployment of any domain names. Registrants will be provided with access to the ZONE-REG PowerDNS server system via a dedicated control panel, enabling full access to the DNS zone(s) for domain names they have registered. Premium tier – registrants are OPTED IN to receiving emails containing information on ZONE-REG service status, how to make the most of domain names, industry news and offers of additional services of any type. The ability to OPT OUT of receiving marketing emails is permitted after one month from the date of domain registration.
Registration Requirements
Domain registrants must provide full postal address details to enable confirmation of residence in the relative country if needed – PO Box addresses are not permitted.
Domain registrants must provide real first name and surname details during the sign up process. Entering nick names and/or initials is not permitted. Non-adherence will result in termination of the service and deletion of the domain name.
Domain registrants are not permitted to point .eu.org domains to sites hosting commercial activity of any type. This excludes fund raising by registered charities and bonafide open source projects.
Attempts to register domain names for what we reasonably believe to be for fraudulent or criminal purposes will be blocked. e.g. payment-redirect.uk.eu.org or hackers-rus.uk.eu.org. Any domains found to be pointing to sites hosting e-shops, adult content, distribution of torrents, audio/video tracks or anything in breach of the digital millennium act will be deleted.
Statement from .eu.org registrar – registrants are also expressly forbidden to spam (issue mass unsolicited email or news postings, including link-spam for SEO) or phishing (fake sites to steal authentication data), not to provide tools to help spamming or phishing, not to distribute malware.
Following sign up and registration, DNS propagation will take 24 – 48 hours. During which time registrants with Premium DNS will be provided with login details for the DNS control panel. DNS will be initially set with the domain resolving the zone-reg parking page and no MX records.
DNSSEC will be enabled on all xx.eu.org domain names during the registration process, hence the domain name(s) will be pointed to the zone-reg DNS servers at all times.
Liabilities
The act of sign up to ZONE-REG services – binds registrants and all users to these terms. ZONE-REG will make reasonable endeavours to deliver services as specified, but shall not be held liable for disruption of any type, or registrant losses of any kind for any reason. Registrants who do not adhere to these terms will indemnify ZONE-REG in relation to any legal action resulting in claims regarding public liability and professional indemnity.
Termination
Registrants may opt not to renew domain registrations or services at the end of the contract cycle (typically monthly or yearly). In any event – registrants should advise of intent to terminate this contract three weeks prior to the renewal date – in an effort to prevent an invoice for future months/years being issued. Should advance notification of the registrants intent to terminate not be received as specified, domain names and services relating to unpaid invoices will be cancelled after the time specified in the email containing the invoice.
Registrants found not to be adhering to these terms via a complaint of any type may have services suspended or terminated immediately. Registrants found not to be adhering to these terms by routine audit will be provided with a single warning via email and services terminated if no response is evident within 48 hours.
In the unlikely event that ZONE-REG services are discontinued for any reason, reasonable endeavours will be made to transfer premium DNS services to an alternative provider in away which minimises the risk of down time.
